Terms and conditions

Last updated October 14, 2026

1. Who we are

Standard Practice sells templates, worksheets, policies, spreadsheets, and AI skills for accounting firms, and offers 1:1 coaching. Questions about these terms go to standard_practice_accounting@proton.me.

2. Not legal, tax, or insurance advice

Our tools are general templates. They are not legal, tax, accounting, or insurance advice, and using them does not create an attorney-client or advisory relationship.

You are responsible for having a licensed attorney review any policy, engagement letter language, client agreement, or data security document before you use it, and for confirming with your professional liability or cyber insurance carrier that it fits your coverage. Laws and professional standards differ by state and change over time.

3. License for purchased tools

When you buy a tool, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use and edit it inside your own firm, with unlimited clients. You may share completed documents with your clients and staff.

You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the tools, or share them with other firms, whether edited or not.

4. AI skills and GPTs

AI skills and GPT instructions run on third-party services such as Claude and ChatGPT. We do not control those services, their availability, their pricing, or how they handle data. Follow your firm's data security policy and the provider's terms before entering client information.

AI output can be wrong. Review every draft before you send or rely on it.

5. Coaching

Coaching is offered in 8-week sprints with limited spots. Joining the waitlist does not reserve a spot. When a spot opens, we send you an invitation with the price and payment terms, and your spot is confirmed once payment is received.

Custom solutions and tools created during your sessions, such as AI skills, GPTs, databases, spreadsheets, worksheets, and SOPs, are yours to keep and use in your firm. We may reuse general methods and non-confidential ideas in our own work.

Coaching is education and guidance. You make and are responsible for the decisions in your firm, and results depend on the actions you take.

6. Payments and refunds

Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are calculated at checkout where they apply. Because tools are delivered as digital files, sales are final once the files are delivered, unless a file is defective and we cannot fix it, in which case we refund it.

7. Your information

We store the information you submit through our forms (contact messages, waitlist sign-ups, diagnostic answers, and notification requests) to respond to you and run our business. We do not sell it. Email us to have your information deleted.

8. Limitation of liability

The tools, site, and coaching are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Standard Practice is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service involved.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The version posted here applies to purchases made after the update date.
